Wang's Mandarin House has become a standard for Chinese food restaurants in the area. The family-owned place started in 1982 and now has two locations, one Downtown, the other out East. Hunan and Szechuan cuisine are the typical offerings, but it also has Peking (Mandarin), Cantonese and Shanghai dishes. The CA's food dditor Jennifer Biggs recently checked out the East Memphis, Tenn. location and said, "It's the Peking duck — that truly shines at Wang's. It was as good as duck gets, with crisp mahogany skin and a moist interior."
