About us

It's a classic tale of pluck and grit. Dick Stack had some ideas about how to sell fishing gear. His boss told him he'd never make a good merchant. So the kid took $300 his grandmother gave him and started his own store. Young Stack began with a bait shop and launched a successful company. Nowadays, it's a full-line retailer offering a broad assortment of brand name sporting goods equipment, apparel and footwear, with 384 stores in 39 states.
