Coach Pastner digs it

"Everything I heard about Southern hospitality is very much true."

That's what U of M coach Josh Pastner said when asked what he liked about Memphis. He's loving the roller coaster ride of being with the Tigers in this town.

I suspect he might be a contender for a Memphis Most award, but it's all going to be up to you when you start balloting later this month.

Memphis Most is the best of what's in this town -- people, places and things. We've been surveying our readers to find out what tickles their fancies and the results each year have been amazing.

If you're looking for someplace to eat, you can't do better that to see which restaurants embody the Memphis Most quality. In our expansive menu of categories last year, we had winners in the Rendezvous, B. B. King's Blues Club, Paulette's, Gus's Fried Chicken, Chow Time and Chez Philippe -- among many others.

People who stood out in readers minds included Al Green, Justin Timberlake, the Rev. Bill Adkins, Wendi Thomas and Shirley Raines, among others.

The coolest places to be? Try the Zoo, The Peabody, Shelby Farms and TPC Southwind for starters.

And for maintaining that Bluff City quality of life, our readers liked Davis-Kidd Booksellers, Palladio Antiques, Easy Way Food Stores, Mednikow Jewelers, First Tennessee and FedEx. Along with several others.

Soon we'll be posting the ballot for you to vote on this year's favorites.

Join us and Michael Donahue on the road to Mostness and tell us:

What do YOU like most about Memphis?
